San Lucchese

We then headed South around Milan, down E35 past Parma, Bologna, and Florence (Firenze) to Hotel Villa San Lucchese just Northwest of Siena in the town Poggibonsi. This hilltop hotel was painstakingly restored by the family that is now operating the hotel.

Northwest of the hotel is a vineyard surrounded by olive trees (not yet in bloom) and beyond that is an ancient fortress built by the Medici (above the car in the photo) that Caroline and I walked around late this evening.

Dinner in the hotel was delicious and enjoyed at another long table.
