Most of our meals were included in the tour and we ate well. Italians typically eat (when fine dining) an appetizer such as bruschetta (pronounce the ch as in chicken), a prima dish of pasta (sauce depends upon region), a secunda dish of meat and vegetable and a dulche (dessert) with cappuccino (or tea in my case).

The gentleman serving us claimed to be related to John 23rd and had been touched by him as a baby. Caroline called him a relic which he found to be both amusing and alarming.

After this meal we were introduced to coffee with liquor which Rainer, our German born guide from Chicago explained is called Caffe Corrected.
This meal was in a very new museum dedicated to this pope in Sotto il Monte.
